Hadith on Death: The Prophet suffers painful throes of death

Aisha reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as he was dying and he had a cup of water, which he would dip his hand into and wipe his face with water, then he was saying, “O Allah, help me with the agonies of death!”

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْمَوْتِ وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ وَهُوَ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ
